Established in 1928, we are a small school, surrounded by cattle and cane, situated halfway between Mackay and Proserpine. Pindi Pindi State School provides a quality educational program in a rural multi-age setting for students from the Preparatory to Year 6.

We encourage children to be children in a safe and supportive environment with quality educational opportunities. We have a strong academic focus framed, where possible, on real life contexts. We aim to sustain the fabric of this farming community by learning through hands-on interaction with the environment.

We build trust, resilience and life skills for all students and our school is grounded in a strong sense of community. Families are encouraged to work as one with the school to develop confident, well-rounded citizens of the future. We believe students should share in the responsibility of their own learning by knowing where they are at and where they need to go next.  This creates confident and resilient learners who have ownership over their own learning potential.

The staff of Pindi Pindi State School are committed to:

  • Nurturing academic, cultural and sporting excellence;
  • Creating respectful, safe and caring learning environments;
  • Ensuring high standards across all curriculum areas;
  • Fostering strong partnerships with parents and the wider community;
  • Utilising digital technologies and design thinking to build critical, creative and curious thinkers.

As well as a highly supportive school community, there are a number of qualified and experienced support staff, including highly experienced teacher aides. We have a specialist teacher providing Languages other than English (LOTE) - German. Proximity to a Mackay ensures ready access to additional support services.

The school is part of a cluster of schools that work together with regards to curriculum and extra curricula activities. Throughout the year students participate in various academic, cultural and sporting activities with students of the other schools.
